I am going to Hong Kong in mid January for 2 weeks!I got the offer for Global Consulting Project in Hong Kong.Yay!I am really happy! :D

This is the second last week of semester 2.My tutor said that he is going to do his PHD in Mathematics and Statistics in US after completing his honours this year.I asked him why doesn't he want to become an actuary and his answer was "Don't you think that it is a boring job?".Hmm...Quite true I guess.Anyway,the main point of this post is that I start to think about my future after today's tutorial.Seeing my tutor has a very clear direction of where to go and what to do upon completion of honours makes me wondering whether I am ready for my future.Whenever someone asks me what my future plan is,my answer would be - Complete all 3 parts of the exams offered by the Institute of Actuary of Australia to become an accredited actuary.It has become a "standard" answer for me.I didn't even think twice before saying that because it seems to me that it is the plan that I will go ahead for sure,it is the path that I have decided long time ago,it is something that I will definitely do!However,I think people tend to formulate their thought and decision that has been made in their mindset.Decision made,just follow the plan,case closed,that's it.I think I have fallen into this sort of situation where I have restricted myself in a corner.It has always been my plan to be an actuary in the future.Yes,it is a good plan.Yet,I shouldn't narrow down my options,at least not at the moment.Nothing else other than that has ever crossed my mind ever since I decided to be a qualified actuary.It is good to have a target but it is not ideal for us to shut all the other doors.There might be some other choices that are better than what we are having now.I think it's time for me to rethink about my future plan.Of course,I am not saying that I don't want to be an actuary anymore.I just want to open up my options,try to search for more opportunities,and maybe have a thought about what I really want.I might be more determined to proceed with my initial plan;or I might come up with another one.Who knows?

I got an internship offer from OCBC Bank!A pretty exciting news,isn't it?I was surprised when the interviewer decided to give me an offer on the spot.My intense facial expression turned into a big smile instantly.Yay!!

Good things are happening and I hope it will last longer! :)
